During his university studies, he attended several professional congresses and conferences not only in Slovakia, but also in Japan, Brazil and Croatia. He worked at Socialbakers in Prague, US Steel, IBM and FPT in Košice. In August 2016, it got directly to Huawei’s headquarters in China. We present to you the skilful Martin Miškuf – a doctoral student at the Department of Cybernetics and Artificial Intelligence of the Technical University in Košice.
Martin Miškuf from Košice (1990) thinks that information technologies are currently in all areas of our lives, and therefore their study is promising and successful. In his case, for sure. In October 2016, he and his team won the Slovak round of the international scientific event Cisco StartUp Creathon in Bratislava, the second in the European ranking. He also won FPT startup competitions. He was nominated for the national competition Student Personality of Slovakia academic year 2015/2016.

Drones and identification of “non-people”
Martin has collaborated on several projects as part of his studies of cybernetics and artificial intelligence, as well as various other activities. He assisted in meetings that addressed the use of drones for rescue services in Slovakia, but also the recognition of images from cameras from road gates (applied results from these meetings can help in the search for stolen vehicles). He was part of projects focused on safety when working with cranes in US Steel Košice. During his internship in Prague, he worked on a tool that recognizes inhuman users of social networks. He now deals with data analysis using artificial intelligence methods. It focuses on an area known as the Internet of Things (IoT). It is an internet connection of as many devices as possible. From them, data are collected and analyzed, and Smart cars, for example, work on this principle.
Efforts at the university pay off
Thanks to his dexterity, Martin participated in Huawei’s IT Talent program last August. The company thus supports young talents in the field of IT technologies. During his two-week stay in Asia, he visited Beijing, Shenzhen and Hong Kong, completed a basic Chinese course at a Beijing language school, and looked at the Huawei Exhibiton Center and 5G laboratories. He also completed training on mobile networks and new technologies. In November 2016, at the closing ceremony of the program in Bratislava, he received an award from Huawei representatives for his efforts and enthusiasm for study.
