Center for Intelligent Cybernetic Systems (CIKS)

Who makes it up?

The Center of Intelligent Cybernetic Systems (CICS) consists of a research group of people and their activities mainly in laboratories within the Center of Applied Cybernetics KKUI FEI of the Technical University in Košice based at Vysokoškolská 4 in Košice. CIKS laboratories are mainly used for the practical implementation of bachelor’s, master’s and dissertation theses, research tasks and cooperation with practice.

Smart space

Industry 4.0 is the new phase of the industrial revolution, focusing on interconnection, automation, machine learning and real-time data. Industry 4.0, also known as IIoT or intelligent manufacturing, combines physical manufacturing and operations with intelligent digital technologies, machine learning and big data to create a more holistic and interconnected ecosystem for companies focused on manufacturing and supply chain management.

What is Industry 4.0 / Smart Industry?

Industry 4.0 is the new phase of the industrial revolution, focusing on interconnection, automation, machine learning and real-time data. Industry 4.0, also known as IIoT or intelligent manufacturing, combines physical manufacturing and operations with intelligent digital technologies, machine learning and big data to create a more holistic and interconnected ecosystem for companies focused on manufacturing and supply chain management.

What is the acronym SCADA?

Supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) is a control system architecture that includes computers, network data communications, and graphical user interfaces (GUIs) to control high-level process control, while also including other peripherals such as programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and discrete devices. Proportional – integrated derivative controllers (PIDs) for connection to manufacturing plants or machines.

Smart/Intelligent Edge/Fog/Cloud

It is defined as a space in which, with the help of sensors, data is collected and stored, subsequently processed, analyzed and evaluated, where, based on the evaluation results, the system automatically performs defined steps without human intervention.

What are the main features of the group?

The main feature of the group are real solutions of applied informatics and cybernetics with the support of artificial intelligence: Smart / Intelligent space – interaction and interoperability human – system (health, robot, industry), ie human-cyber-physical systems, running on Operator 4.0, Caregiver 4.0.
