Introduction to Industry 4.0 / Smart Industry & Internet of Everything & Edge / fog / cloud systems – 1st year, 1st degree, study program Intelligent Systems
Description
The graduate of the course will gain initial theoretical knowledge and practical experience about the latest cybernetic (intelligent, information and control) principles and technologies introduced into various types of industry or human life. The student will gain an overview of the benefits of individual industrial revolutions with emphasis on the fourth industrial revolution. Understand concepts and contexts such as edge, fog and cloud systems, IoE (Internet of Everything) and IoT (Internet of Things), RAMi 4.0 and IIRA reference architectures,. They will understand the penetration, synergy, ecosystem of these elements and pillars into various industries and life (cloud manufacturing, industrial IoT, smart city, smart living, smart home, smart automation, colaborative robotics). The student will know the basics of networks and protocols used in various types of applications, e.g. OPC, DDE, ODBC, MQTT or wireless technologies, e.g. wifi, NFC, BLE. The graduate will get acquainted with the most modern architectures and applications of intelligent information and control systems. He will get an overview of the deployment of cloud systems (MS Azure, Wonderware, Rockwell automation, IBM Bluemix, big data) and applications of intelligent systems (robotics, computer vision, machine intelligence, control systems).
students will learn in small teams and also individually practically analyze, synthesize and realistically design simple end-to-end solutions for Industry X.0. In projects with emphasis on edge / fog / cloud platforms (Cisco Packet tracer, IBM Cloud, MS Azure, ESP-wifi controller, sensors, web data visualization). In the project, they will program a simple application edge layer in C / C # / Python languages, via a fog gateway with a wifi module. The cloud solution will be based on visual component programming in available professional platforms. A functional HW + SW + KW smart solution with documentation with a public presentation and defense of the solution will be submitted to the projects.
